workload and  management

The current workload of L. A. Paul & Associates enables our firm to commence design work and production documentation on the proposed project in a timely fashion. Currently, most of our projects are out to bid or under construction. These projects are primarily requiring construction administration services, therefore, we are able to commit adequate resources to provide the professional services in a manner consistent with the standard of care. Other projects in design are either awaiting entitlements and approvals or have been put on hold by the client pending recovery of the economy.

L. A. PAUL & ASSOCIATES is a sole proprietorship, owned and managed by Larry A. Paul, AIA.  Allen F. Schafer is a senior associate architect in the firm, with Juan Jose Arteaga and Robert Giguiere as junior associates. Our firm provides architectural and planning services throughout California and the U.S. but primarily in Northern California .

A principal architect or senior associate is assigned to each project as team leader and client liaison. He is responsible for the architectural administration and coordination of the project from inception through completion and will be the liaison with the client’s designated representative. Members of our office team and our consultants have worked together on a variety of projects, and will support each project with their expertise as may be required.

The AIA advocates “peer review” of office practices and project work to enhance the standard of care within our profession. The principals of L. A. PAUL & ASSOCIATES regularly review each other’s projects to expand our expertise, increase efficiency and continuously improve the level of service to our clients.

Our firm employs “value engineering” practices to guide the schematic and design development phases of a project. Alternative materials and construction methods are evaluated in context of the preferred solution before costly commitments are made. This process, as well as including our clients on the design team, provides the basis of our successful projects in terms of schedule and budget.
