experience as a Project Manager and Architect providing comprehensive
architectural services to corporate clients.
Mr. Schafer has extensive
knowledge of commercial and light industrial facility design. As project
architect for new and renovation projects, ranging from $30 thousand to $14
million, he has recognized the owner's perspective in the design and
construction process. He values his client's individual or group
participation in the design process and his skills as a facilitator make him
an asset in the project delivery process, keeping the project on schedule
and within budget. He presently serves as a consultant to several Property
Management companies.
Mr.
Schafer is proficient in all phases of architectural service, from site
analysis and programming through construction administration and
post-occupancy surveys. He is accomplished at discerning the overall project
and coordinating multi-discipline project teams to create effective
solutions. He has extensive experience in providing forensic investigation
for water intrusion and remediation for damage. His analytical reports serve
to inform owners of construction defects, guide Boards in preparing their
repair/maintenance programs, and contribute to legal evidence to recover
investments.
Mr. Schafer has served on the
Boards of Directors of several community organizations and was recognized
for his outstanding service by the
California
Park
and Recreation Society. He also was presented with several Citations for his
contributions to the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He currently
serves on committees or boards of the Chamber of Commerce, Miner’s
Foundry, Kiwanis and Habitat for Humanity. Al is President of the Alta
Sierra Property Owners Association, representing over 6,300 residents.
